Willow Branch Farm began in 2013 as a hobby starting with three mixed breed goats that were gifted to us for my husband’s 40th birthday. We had built a barn, not quite knowing what it would house, but my husband knew he wanted livestock of some kind. Six years later and our herd has morphed into close to forty Nigerian Dwarf goats.
The name “Willow Branch” comes from the willow tree that we planted on our farm as a cutting from a tree that my great-grandmother had in her backyard. The willow tree is known for its deep, long-reaching root systems and its ability to bend into outrageous poses without snapping. That willow tree, symbolizing the importance of roots and family, resides beside a branch of a creek, which combine to form Willow Branch Farm. Our name represents what’s important to us––family, roots, and the beauty of nature.
My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature.

No one comes from the earth like grass. We come like trees. We all have roots.
